Album Review: Angoixa – Distopia Digital (Blood Fire Death)
On Distopia Digital, Angoixa’s fourth album, the death metal band, singing in Catalan, lashes out. Dealing with issues such as war, abuse of power, immigration, the struggle for freedom and, above all, attacking the digital evil that currently stalks us. It will be released on December 17th, 2021.
Filled with vehemence and unwilling to just sit back and let things happen, Angoixa spit out a vicious and noxious blackened death substance in the form of Distopia Digital. Seven beastly tracks, seven ferocious tomes of intensity and seven tracks of mentally-crushing and cracking noise. It’s a harsh album to listen too but sometimes, that’s exactly what you need to wake you out of your digitally constructed stupor.
Angoixa are disgusted with your disdain for human life, for other’s suffering, for your mind-numbing devotion to elected bureaucrats, for your over-reliance on digital media and obsessions with social media. This album is your wake-up call.
Don’t like the harsh dose of reality? Tough shit. Angoixa don’t care. Nor do they care for your ear-drums as they blaze their way through seven blistering and brutal efforts. If you find yourself not caring about what they have to say, you will care about the noise they create.
It’s brutal and it’s unforgiving. Shut up and take it.
