EP Review: Dark – Inside the Void (Self Released)
Swedish goth rock quartet Dark consists of vocalist/guitarist/lyricist Erik Molarin, guitarist Jonas Strömberg, bassist Jörgen Ström and drummer Mats Törnebohm. Dark was formed out of the remnants of The Mary Major, and further back, Beseech.
Their new EP, Inside the Void is set for April 30th, 2021.
Dripping in goth rock energy, dark synth and groovy sexiness. Dark’s Inside the Void is a fun EP for those with the deep urge to dance. Its 4 tracks certainly won’t disappoint in regards to body-shaking energy.
A lot of the über-goth vibes admittedly come from the vocals but the melodies, catchy synth, punchier riffs and deep percussion certainly make everything that more impactful. Ice- cold at times, warm and comforting at others, Dark have the ability to make their performance here all the more personal sounding.
Love it. Dance to it. Get sexy to it. It is a big hitter.
