Fury & Dakesis Release Their 2020 Christmas Collaboration Single!
Birmingham, UK’s Dakesis and Fury have released their annual Christmas collaboration single and video, and this year it’s Greg Lake’s classic “I Believe in Father Christmas” that gets the epic brummy metal treatment.
Although it has been a difficult year for musicians to collaborate, Becky Baldwin from Fury says:
It felt important that we could keep some traditions going and create something positive despite the difficult situation for everyone. Looking back on memories we have shared has been something that kept us motivated about making music, and even though we couldn’t be together to work on the music this year, we have still created new special memories. The bittersweet lyrics and general tone of this song felt appropriate for the year it has been, but I still hope it makes people smile!
Both bands released new albums at the beginning of the UK lockdown, and were due to tour the UK and mainland Europe together throughout 2020. Dakesis vocalist Gemma says:
We’re thrilled that many of the Furykesis shows have been rescheduled for 2021, but the future for touring is still so uncertain. We all miss each other so much, and we can’t wait to tour together when it is safe to do so. For now we keep going with group zoom calls, and we’re grateful to have the skills and technology to continue being creative together throughout this long separation and lockdown.
The video was produced by Dakesis’s Adam Harris, and the audio mixed and mastered by Dakesis’s Matt Jones at CapsaArx Studio.
