Band Interview: Geometry of Chaos
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are very pleased to bring you an interview with progressive metal band, Geometry of Chaos.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Me and Davide are playing together since 2014, We called ourselves Galileo’s Spectacles at that time, with a guy on bass called Fulvio Flavio, an introvert guy very good on his instrument but without compositional contribution. Then I have followed my solo project with my longtime friend and drummer Andy Monge, doing some shows and promoting my two albums, Res Parallel and Ebe, and then I came back playing with Davide again without a bass player, in fact I have chosen to play it cause now I’m playing bass since more than 10 years.
2. How would you describe your sound?
It’s a sort of mix of my musical tastes without trying to be someone else. I love rock and metal in many forms, but I also listen to other stuff. Prog metal is a classic definition but it can be OK, very guitar and drums oriented.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Mine all time favorites like Beatles, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Tool,Rush, King Crimson but also all things we like from classic rock and metal and subgenres, including soundtrack music for cinema and other forms of music and classical music. I believe all things we love can inspired us to write and compose something fresh and unique with our sound.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
In terms of streaming and listeners of course it helped, you can arrive in many ears in this way, economical and fast. On the other side internet gets you almost no money, so it’s difficult to go on and recording and writing in this way.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
It Depends, the time to follow my passions and interests sometimes it’s not too much, I try to keep myself healthy with fitness, try to find the time for reading and traveling.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
We are not planning tour at the moment with coronavirus situation in our country and in the world..i have started writing new music, I bought a new guitar and have something additional to my home studio. Of course I ‘ll keep promoting the album and our band.
