Album Review: Revolting – The Shadow At The World’s End (Transcending Obscurity Records)

Revolting happens to be one of Rogga Johansson’s most prominent and long-running bands along with Paganizer. The band is also one of the most active ones. Fans will know that they’ve honed their craft over the years and they do things in a better way with each one. For the seventh full length, Rogga Johansson has done his best blending classic Swedish melodies with the brute force that his bands are associated with. If you’re a fan of well-rounded Swedish death metal that has everything in spades, Revolting is for you.

The Shadow at the World’s End will be released on November 27th 2020 via Transcending Obscurity Records.

Rogga Johansson might just be one of the hardest working men in metal. We constantly see his name coming up and while he might have his fingers in a ton of pies, he consistently delivers banging album after album. Revolting’s The Shadow at the World’s End just another top drawer melodic death metal release.

Easily one of the most addictive Swedish-related metal albums heard this year, the fire is burning brightly and stoked by kick-ass riff work and deliciously brutal vocals. The pairing working so fine together but also complimented by bass and drums that add the weight of heavy metal to proceedings.

There’s not a bad track on this album. Each one delivers a classic slice of focused and impeccably produced death metal. From beginning to end, it emits quality and demands that all you need to do in return is head-bang your bloody neck off. Hard to argue with the demand.
