EP Review: Humanity is Cancer – Humanity is Cancer (Redefining Darkness Records)
Humanity is Cancer acts as a reflection of society. The band have never proven so relevant as they do today. With the pandemic, racial tension, social injustice, corrupt & broken politics, the world would almost be better starting over from scratch.
Their new self-titled EP drops in the hungry mouths of death metal fans worldwide on November 13th 2020.
There’s a lot of love for death metal in this unit. A simple run down the members will tell you that. Thomas Haywood on guitars (ex-Abigail Williams and owner of Redefining Darkness Records and Seeing Red Records) Michael Wilson (ex-Abigail Williams/ex-Aborted) on lead guitar, Noah Buchanan (Nunslaughter/From the Hellmouth) on bass and vocals, and Lyle Cooper (ex-The Faceless/ex-Abhorrent) on drums.
In addition, Matt Moliti of Sentient Horror and Caleb Bingham of Athanasia also pop in for guest leads on two separate tracks.
If all of that wasn’t enough to make this EP something worth checking out, take our word for it, it’s a beast. Taking influence from the old-school of death metal and packing it out with fierce, aggressive and commanding riffs, pulverising percussion and vocals weighted in iron. It’s a strong showcase of individual talents combining to deliver remarkable heaviness and be unapologetically ruthless.
