Band Interview: D.I.G
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with rock band D.I.G!
1. How did you get started as a band?
We started out when singer and guitar player Björn celebrated his 30th birthday. We got together and played some covers at the party. After that we thought that why not make some own music together? So we did! That was really the start of the band. We did make a line-up change last year when former drummer Elias stepped down and Jonahan came into the picture.
2. How would you describe your sound?
A mix of classic and modern rock. Our first album was a mix of songs that Björn wrote prior to D.I.G. It got some heavy tunes and some cringe worthy moments hahaha. The latest EP was a bit more classic rock sounding, not as heavy but more well crafted songs. Our new album that we are working on will be a nice mix of both. But if you like heavy riffs and melodic music check us out!
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
We are so different musical animals in D.I.G but we come from rock. Jonathan is a Ac/Dc freak, Fredrik is more of the metal head and Björn is all over! But we say that D.I.G is a bit of King´s X, Alter bridge, Black stone cherry and alice in chains.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Good question! This is some thing that could be discussed for days haha. For us? Well I think since we are a small band with limited resources it’s been good. It is easy for us to get out there BUT it is also super hard to get noticed.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Fredrik is doing shit loads of BBQ, Jonathan is taking care of family life and Björn started a company and got some projects going.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
NEW MUSIC! Haha that’s the main prio! We hope to have a new album by late 2020. Hopefully we will be able to tour in 2021, fingers crossed!
