EP Review: The Miser – The Miser (Self Released)
Forged from hell fires that were created in 1970, The Miser have been throwing down analog-soaked tunes and making no apologies for it since 2014. Famously described as Trouble partying with Budgie and Atomic Rooster, they’ll rip your head off with a bottom-heavy, gut-busting energy likely to make you need a trip to an emergency room.
The band have recently re-geared and will release a new 4 track EP which will serve as a bigger taste of things to come. The self-titled release will be out on July 3rd 2020.
A comfy slice of hard rock and heavy metal infused head-bangers, The Miser bring more than just the riffs with this self-titled EP. Although those are certainly in abundance, the swagger and groove of What A Pity is what really stands out.
Nawks of Judgement and Judgement Day follows that with the high-powered metal energy that The Miser have become so renowned for. Unrepentant in its desire to strip back any complexities and just go all out with the head-banging.
Simplicity in how it can be consumed, a throwback with a modern skin. The foot will be tapping all the way through the strong finale of Numb.
