EP Review: Dali – Vol. 1 (Self Released)
Hotly-tipped Southampton-based crew, Dali, hurl out riff-infused alt-rock laced with commanding vocal lines, and thoughtful structures. The Brit alt-rockers set loose their explosive debut EP, Vol. 1, on Friday 24th April 2020.
With some fire in their bellies and plenty of melodious moments, Dali make a perfect landing with the opening pair off their new EP. Both Borrowed Time and You’re Not the One are filled with optimistic riffs, memorable rhythm and a perfect blend of sneering heaviness and radio rock.
Talking of radio rock…Close should be a big hitter for Dali. The mellow verses built on strong singing and the faster, bouncier choruses really nail what make Dali such an attractive proposition.
Not that Wasteland is any lesser with its slower pace. The melody of the guitars, the soft drum beats and powerful vocals making this another unforgettable track from an unforgettable EP.
It’s not hyperbole to say that this is the sort of release that could see Dali rise to the top of the alternative rock pile.
