Music News: Brit Thrashers Kilonova Have Just Revealed Their New Single – Immortal!

Formidable modern metal foursome Kilonova were originally formed when bassist Joe Bambrick and guitarist Jonny Sloan joined forces in 2017. They soon laid down demo tracks, connecting with drummer Steve Rouse and vocalist Ellen Hill, and by April 2018, the quartet had made their live debut. Instant momentum soon followed. The band wooed audiences at Newcastle’s Metal 2 The Masses in the Spring of 2018 and were swiftly selected to perform at Bloodstock. Kilonova had officially announced themselves on the UK’s metal scene.

The rising riff slingers started 2019 with a bang by finishing off work on their debut EP, Omnicide, before continuing their rise in support of Finnish upstarts Lost Society during their UK tour. This was also followed up with a series of successful tours across England and Scotland. Last Summer, the band released their first EP, Omnicide, which received rampant critical acclaim.

Since the release of Omnicide, Kilonova have expanded their fanbase and reach throughout the whole of the UK. Towards the end of 2019, the thrash metallers entered the studio once more to record their new single, Immortal.

Vocalist, Ellen Hill remarks about the track:

Immortal is about rising up from where you came from and realising that no matter what life throws at you, you can get through it and it will make you stronger. It’s the next step for us as a band; we have grown a lot as musicians since ‘Omnicide’ and we are all really proud of the single and video.

The band have a slew of tours planned for the rest of the year and a number of festival appearances arranged for the Summer; check their social sites for full details. 2020 is destined to be Kilonova’s break-out year.

Kilonova will play a run of shows in March with A Ritual Spirit, Ashen Reach & Nocturne Wulf:

13th Mar – Edinburgh, Opium; 14th Mar – Newcastle, Trillians; 15th Mar – Liverpool, EBGB’s.
