EP Review: Tzun Tzu – The Forbidden City (Lavadome Productions)
The artisans of Ancient Oriental Death Metal Tzun Tzu have unearthed a monolith of exceptionally well-crafted brutality with their new EP ‘The Forbidden City’. Comprised of two old songs, now developed to display their potential at fullest, and a brand new song, Tzun Tzu are showcasing the world a thunderous form of Death Metal brutality.
The EP was released on January 31st 2020 via Lavadome Productions.
Death metal has no boundaries or borders, play it hard, loud and heavy which is exactly what Tzun Tzu do with this three-track offering. It’s hard to pinpoint just what is so intense about this band as each instrument punches as hard as humanly possible. Is it the rampant riffing? The chaotic drum style? The thickness of the bass? Or the ferocity that comes from the vocals?
Regardless, put it all together and you have an ear-bleedingly, belligerent and focused death metal release.
