EP Review: Summon – Helios (Godz Ov War Productions)

Blackened death war is coming! Unprecedented and unrivalled wickedness, barbarism and ferocity is soon to be unleashed upon this wretched kind under the banner of Godz Ov War Productions! Helios is the upcoming EP from Summon, out on February 2nd 2020.

With the might of both black and death metal behind them, Summon unleash an EP of salacious blackened death metal made up of three tracks, or three parts each entitled Helios.

With barely contained fury within the vocals and a sickening assault of guitars and drums, part I is vomited out at a pace that is near unlistenable. Part II slows things down a bit, aside from the drums which continue to drive forward with all the intent of an enraged bull.

Finally it’s Helios III to take all of that, extend it and throw in some gut-shaking guitar squeals and some of the EPs most demonic howls. A truly despicable effort that appeals to the darkness inside.
