1. How did you get started as a band?
The band High Moonlight was formed in the late 90s among some friends of the school. All we wanted was to play a good old rock in roll as high as possible, that’s what united us in the beginning. The grunge scene was high at the time, bands like Nirvana, Alice and others dominated the rock scene of the time, we did not like that sound and we wanted to play the good old Heavy / Rock of all time.
We heard Dio, Sabbath, AC / DC, Rainbow … so they were the bands that inspired us. At first we were just a trio, guitar, bass and drums. Like all bands, we used to play several covers of bands we used to sing (Uriah Heep, Dio, Rainbow), but the goal was always their own songs.
2. How would you describe your sound?
My songs are compositions that have as remarkable characteristic the construction of powerful riffs and beautiful vocal melodies.
In other words, it is exactly what rock or heavy metal was when it came into the world and that most bands today have forgotten (main ingredients that are riffs, melodies and weight).
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
My main musical influences are bands like Black Sabbath, AC / DC, Megadeth, Rainbow and Dio.
I really like guitarists with Ritchie Blackmore, Jason Becker, Ross the Boss and Tony Iommi.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
It has helped in the sense that we can reach listeners in many parts of the world (if we have the money to pay good music advice).
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Anything. I do not like working with anything other than music. I work because I still need it. But if I can choose I’ll be asleep or I’ll be fucking.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Record a CD professionally, advertise, go on tour and kick some butts around the world with my music.
