Band Interview: Days to Come
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with pop rock/prog rock band, Days to Come.
1. How did you get started as a band?
Justin – Days To Come officially formed in 2014. I met Brandon at a local music store one afternoon before a gig and we hit it off pretty quickly. Jalen joined us in early 2018. We’ve had a few lineup changes over the years but we feel pretty confident in the team we currently have.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Brandon – We’re continually developing and working towards what “Days To Come” sounds like, but I want to be able to say that we have pop styled, catchy vocal melodies layered with intricate music supporting it. Basically pop-prog.
3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Jalen – I wouldn’t say that any one person has influenced me the most because that would undermine the hundreds of musicians that have inspired me to do what I do today. I believe that anyone who has a dedicated spirit to make music is an inspiration.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
Justin – It’s helped us. Social media and streaming is a wonderful tool to help introduce indie bands to people. We’re able to stay in touch with people we’ve met at shows and we’ve been able to reach more people through using the internet than we would without it.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
Brandon – Sleeping. Playing multiplayer games solo. Procrastinating.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
Jalen – We’re planning on releasing a new single in about 10 weeks. We’re doing a short run in February in Florida with our friends in 7 Stone Riot and House Of Curses. We’re doing a run in Louisiana and Mississippi in April with our friends in Ventruss and we’re planning a longer tour in July as we head up to Wisconsin to perform at Rock Fest.
We’d like to thank Days to Come for taking the time to speak with us. You can find out even more by going to their website, Facebook Page, Twitter and Instagram.
