Album Review: Volbeat – Let’s Boogie! – Live from Telia Parken (Vertigo Berlin)

Released on December 14th 2018, Let’s Boogie! is a live album by the Danish rock band, Volbeat recorded in the Telia Parken stadium.

In our opinion the best live records are the ones that make you feel like you’re there. Like you’re at the event that the album was recorded at, cheering and singing along to the music. It’s a live album after all! Make the crowd noise loud, don’t edit out all of the band’s banter and make sure the production reflects the live environment. Otherwise I might as well go and listen to studio albums.

The good news is this live album from Volbeat falls in to the former category. Let’s Boogie is 26 tracks covering the lengthy career of the Danish rockers recorded live in Telia Parken, a stadium in Denmark. To make this release a must buy for fans we also get a brand-new song! That track, The Everlasting isn’t one to write home about though.

When we say this is a best of Volbeat, we mean it. We get great live renditions of classic Volbeat tunes such as Heaven Nor Hell, Lola Montez, Fallen, Goodbye Forever, The Garden’s Tale and much more! They all sound so good though, the love and care put in to creating an all encompassing sound on this album is clear.

It’s also pretty awesome to get a huge array of guests who popped in to help Volbeat make this a show to remember. Barney from Napalm adding his vocals to Evelyn as he does on the album track, Dank Jones on Black Rose and even Metallica’s Lars Ulrich on Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood and a rendition of Enter Sandman.

If you’re already a life-long fan of Volbeat then this is a must buy.
