Album Review: Anal Trump – The First 100 Songs (Joyful Noise Recordings)

Anal Trump combine the best of grindcore legends Anal Cunt as well as sticking a middle finger up to Donald Trump administration. The San Diego duo (Rob and Travis Trump) behind the band have released The First 100 Songs on November 6th (Election Day no less) via Joyful Noise Recordings.

It’s 11 minutes long and combines all the short grind blasts the band has put out to date. This includes 5 Eps that helped raise money for numerous charities.

It’s very hard to describe this album and giving it a review is no easy ask. Just think of the most disgusting grindcore you can think of and then multiply it and you might have some idea of just what Anal Trump sound like. Barely listenable in the way only grindcore can be. The short blasts of ferocity is interspersed by the president words and quotes to hammer home the anti-Trump rhetoric.

Anal Trump want to make him look the fool and they certainly succeed here. Just look at the track titles below!

Is it any good? Well, that depends on your feelings for grindcore on the whole. There is no doubt that Anal Trump do it well and managing to fit 100 songs into 11 minutes is mightily impressive.
