Band Interview: The Fullbug

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with four-piece hard rock band, Fullbug who hail from Tel Aviv, Israel.

1. How did you get started as a band?

We’ve been playing together for the past 5 years. In 2017 after writing and recording a few songs for a new EP, We decided to go under a new name, the Fullbug.

2. How would you describe your sound?

Rock. We’re all about the Big rock drums with loud and heavy guitar riffs. We knew from the start that we want to keep it heavy but not metal, it’s tricky but possible.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

Anything guitar oriented gets our juices flowing. We always go back to our classical influences like Guns ‘N Roses, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Van Halen and Stone temple Pilots. Influences from recent years include Black Label Society, Death From Above 1979, Royal Blood, Biffy Clyro and Maylene & the Sons of Disaster among many more.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

Overall we think it benefits with any new artist exposure-wise, how else are you going to have your music heard so fast by people all around the world? of course it’s somewhat of a ‘honey trap’, in most cases, the big beneficiaries are not the artists.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

Eat Pizza and watch the new season of the Walking Dead.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We have two music videos in the making for the Black Hole Syndrome EP and well, we’re always working on new songs, at some point we’ll take the time to completely focus on our first LP.
