EP Review: Soul Dissolution – nowhere (GS Productions)
Having released one of the best albums of the year in Stardust, it’s an absolute pleasure to say that the incredible Soul Dissolution are not resting just yet. You can read our review of Stardust here. The post-black metal band are back already with a special two-track EP entitled nowhere. It will be a very limited release (150 hand-numbered digipaks) in cooperation with GS Productions from Russia and is out on October 18th 2018.
Happily giving listeners more of the same, nowhere does a phenomenal job of reminding those who may have forgotten that Soul Dissolution are one of the most exciting prospects in metal right now. This is a band that lives in the post-black metal territory and have made it their castle. Combining huge heaviness with emotional melodies and darkly memorable passages, Soul Dissolution absolutely kill it with this EP.
Road to Nowhere is as likely to have you head-banging as it is to have you in floods of tears. The beauty of the melodies, the soaring guitars, the passionate vocal performance…what an incredible song. It’s up there with the best stuff that Soul Dissolution have done.
Then we have Fading Darkness. Holy hell. Words can hardly describe the journey of emotion Soul Dissolution take the listeners on here. Everything fits, nothing is wasted. It’s a simply divine piece of soulful metal and all the confirmation that you need that Soul Dissolution are an incredibly talented band. Big things are in store for them so get on board sooner rather then later.
