Bloodstock 2018 – Band Feature/Interview: Earthbound
This year’s Bloodstock Festival is shaping up to be one of the best ever with a line-up that spans all genres of rock and metal. If you haven’t picked up your tickets yet, what are you waiting for!? Check out our five reasons why you should go there.
Earthbound have earned their place on the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock 2018 by winning the Hobgoblin video upload competition. Taking influence from such bands as Countless Skies, Trivium and Arch Enemy, Earthbound have established a strain of melodic metal all of their own. Their debut EP ‘Endure’ brings together traditional melodic death riffs with massive choruses and progressive elements.
The London based band are headlining the New Blood stage on Saturday night of the festival!

Interview
1. Congratulations on being added to the BOA 2018 bill. How are you feeling about playing the festival?
Thank you! We’re absolutely buzzing to be playing Bloodstock! To be given an opportunity like this is unreal, and we literally can’t wait to hit the New Blood Stage and soak it all in!
2. What can attendees expect from your set?
Lots and lots of energy, head banging and interesting faces.
3. How important is a platform like the New Blood stage for a band like yourselves?
Its such an amazing platform, allowing upcoming and unsigned bands to play such a huge and prestigeous festival. The M2TM competitions give a lot of bands a goal to aim for and it also brings local metal communities closer. This will be our biggest platform yet and we hope to grab the opportunity with both hands.
4. Are you going to be around the festival all weekend? If so, who are you excited to see?
We are most definitely going to be at the festival all weekend which we’re all super excited for! We will be checking out our local dudes Thirteen who won the M2TM Hitchin competition, as well as fellow M2TM winners Sellsword on the New Blood Stage. We’re also looking forward to seeing King Leviathan who we will be supporting later in the year. Finally as a band we’re huge fans of Gojira and Nightwish so to see them headline will be a real treat.
5. What does the rest of 2018 look like for Earthbound?
The remainder of 2018 is really exciting for us. We’re just about to record our second EP which we will be releasing later in the year. After Bloodstock we’ve got a run of dates up and down the country supporting Helgrind which we’re all looking forward to, and we’ve also got a local show supporting King Leviathan and last years M2TM Hitchin winners Raze the Void which is going to be a blast!
