EP Review: Carnal Decay – When Pushes Comes To Shove (Rising Nemesis Records)

Carnal Decay will release When Push Comes to Shove on July 20th via Rising Nemesis Records. An EP consisting of three murderous songs aided by extended guest vocals from Igor Fil of brutal death metal favourites Katalepsy on the title track ‘Food For Thought’.

If heavy as hell brutality and an itch for nasty slams are what you crave, When Push Comes to Shove will more than please fans of Ingested, Dying Fetus, Gorgasm, Acranius, Analepsy, and Vulvodynia.

Carnal Decay 2

It’s simple really, Carnal Decay want to destroy. They want to cause mayhem and on this short EP they do just that. As extreme as they come, the title rages with deep death metal groove and vocals that are impossibly heavy, spat out at a pace that is akin to a horror show.

The word horrifying might imply it’s an un-listenable mess but that is far from the case. Instead it’s the word that can best describe the level of brutality that Carnal Decay bring with Food for Thought. Guest vocalist, Igor Fil delivering an even more extreme hellish style.

As a showcase of power, When Push Comes to Shove delivers as We All Bleed Red finishes things off with a sharp and hard stab to the guts.

Bloody hell.
