Album Review: Infraktor – Exhaust (Rastilho Metal Records)

Exhaust is the debut album of Portuguese thrashers Infraktor. Although they’re a relatively new group, all the members of Infraktor are experienced musicians having served some quite time in acts like Revolution Within, Pitch Black, Echidna and Gates Of Hell. The album will be released on March 2nd 2018 via Rastilho Metal Records.

Infraktor 2

Infraktor’s Exhaust is 8 tracks (plus an old fashioned intro & outro) of blast-beats, roaring guitar riffs, aggression fuelled vocals that shows off a modern take on thrash metal while dabbling within the death metal genre too. Energetic & filled with pure head-banging gold; Blood of the Weak, Son of a Butcher and the title track is a blazingly hot & exciting start.

There’s feverish ferocity in the riffs, the thumping metallic ringing and the snarling vocals. The infection keeps spreading as the album goes on with Confront’s relentless pace, Speech of Deceit’s unashamed heaviness and the groove that Inevitably of Reason shows meaning the middle of Exhaust is nothing but highs!

Not that the latter songs of the album are in anyway a letdown. Unleash the Pigs is devastating & brutalising while Ferocious Intent screams molten fire while delivering an absolutely intense guitar solo.

An exhausting listen but such a satisfying one. Infraktor understand modern thrash & nothing sounds like it doesn’t belong here. Every note, every slamming of the drums, every bass line, every vocal growl…it all fits together like the heaviest puzzle!
