The Middle Ground Between Light & Shadow

There is a fifth dimension, beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call The Twilight Zone.

The Twilight Zone is rightfully considered a classic show. Filled with thrills, excitement, dark & spooky moments, it was a show that has influenced countless artists & bands over the years. The imagination involved is just out of this world.

Episode 25, People are Alike All Over may be one of the lesser known episodes but it can now hold the high distinction of having inspired this album.

Created by Dominic Francisco (Space Monkey Death Sequence), this sonic journey is one that can only be truly understood by having seen the episode in question. Listening to it without having context wouldn’t be fair to what is often exciting, brooding & unsettling music.

Using soundbites from the episode only heightens the experience, you’re hearing People Are Alike All Over with fresh ears. The episode may have aged badly but this music brings it back to life.

I love that Dominic Francisco wanted to recreate the feeling that his 12 year old self had when first seeing that episode & that commitment shines through brightly.

It’s an impressive piece of work, one that doesn’t deserve having a score attributed to it. There isn’t much to compare it too & it’s heavy Twilight Zone links means it’s hardly music that can just be played on a whim.
