Weekly Release Roundup: Monday 10th March 2025 – Friday 14th March 2025

From progressive metal, to sludge and doom, to industrial rock, alternative, death metal, and more, it’s a big week for releases and we’ve got a list for you to check out.

Dessiderium – Keys to the Palace (Willowtip Records)

A staggering showcase of creativity, there are so many moments where this album will leave you stunned into silence, mouth agape. Yet perhaps the most impressive thing of all is that it comes from one person. Sole member and founder Alex Haddad is a bit of a musical genius, and all the proof is in this incredible six track record.

Circle of Origin – Guilty ‘Til Proven Innocent (Self Released)

Circle of Origin are really new (forming in 2024) but they’re about to make one hell of an entrance. Bringing a spirited showcase of their rock and metal ways that shows off each member’s individual talent and how together, they prove to be a seriously creative force.

Nomadic Rituals – Fust (Cursed Monk Records)

Piling on an inordinate amount of weight, as per usual, with their latest tome. Nomadic Rituals show just what growth means. Where all the sludgy and doomy parts are familiar, liable to crush, but the power trio have refined their sound to a sharp and stabby point.

SURE – Destruction of Form (Frozen Records)

If you desperately need to place SURE in a genre, the most obvious is industrial, but it does the band, and this album, a disservice. SURE has worked hard to throw off the shackles that come with genre placement, and the best way to sum up this record comes from the feelings it evokes, and some of which are mightily confusing.

GAZ – My New Skin (Self Released)

The personal tone of this album is important, and across its ten tracks, GAZ gets intimate. Yet even though it is his story, the feelings each track evokes is more accessible than many may first expect. It’s easy to relate, especially when it comes with heightened melodic drama and strong indie rock vitality.

Anomos – Triumvirate (Self Released)

A tight, varied, and horn-throwing listen with layers upon layers of detail that will keep a metalhead satisfied for months to come.

Wombbath – Beyond The Abyss (Pulverised Records)

As garishly brutal as ever, but with renewed power and drive, Wombbath make 2025 that little bit uglier with their brand-new album. A ten-track beastly effort that goes hard from the start and refuses to let up for a second, even though it comes with a healthy dollop of dark and twisted atmosphere.

Nite – Cult of the Serpent Sun (Season of Mist)

Nite - Cult of the Serpent Sun - Artwork

We all like guitars, riffs, drums and of course solos, right? Nite deliver that, expertly. It’s not particularly heavy, especially not in the modern sense of the word where faster and noisier tends to be what people define as heavy now. But it has weight, and depth and a ton of catchiness.
