Interview: Linistit (Written)
Linistit, the melodic blackened death metal band, recently released their new single, ‘Rose Of Eden Garden’. In this interview we get to know them a little better.
1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.
The band Linistit was born in 2012 from an idea of Claudio Pluchino (Angelus – rhythm guitar) and Maria Spada (Triria – voice).
The two together compose the first four tracks based on black and death metal. This is for them the first experience of extreme music composition, made with commitment but without expectations.
Between 2013 and 2014 Angelus and Triria decide to search for the remaining members to try to form a band. The rehearsals begin with some musicians, but you can not find a proper musical and compositional harmony. The Linistit project has been shelved for a while.
In 2016 it resumed with the entry of guitarist Vincenzo Abbate (Katros – solo guitar), with which a strong unity of group spirit is born. In 2017 the three complete the line-up with the addition of Michele Barrano (Black Beast – drums ex Throne Of Molok) and Paolo Baglieri (Damevil – bass). In May 2022 the bassist leaves the band for personal reasons, and the new bassist Claudio D’angelo (Valak) takes his place.
The full training begins a serious work on the project, maintaining a good rhythm of rehearsals and musical composition. The work of the five members gives rise to six songs plus an intro.
In 2018, Linistit released their first music video for the song Linistit.
Meanwhile, the six tracks and the intro for their first album, ‘Evil Arises’ are completed. In February 2021 comes another music video, “Anneliese”, these two songs are part of the album Evil Arises that will be released on March 5, 2021 for Volcano Records. In August 2022 the band starts to produce new tracks, for a particular track, “Rose Of Eden Garden”, a music video has been produced.
2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
Our music is based on Black and Death metal with also melodic and dark riffs.
3. What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?
Currently we are planning live concerts even one abroad and we are composing new tracks for our new upcoming album that we hope to release very soon.
4. What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?
This period is very full of news for us, we released our new single “Rose Of Eden Garden” through Volcano Records & Promotion with also an amazing videoclip, we are reaching more people that appreciate our music and we so excited to come back to play live.
5. Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.
If you’re asking about the single and the videoclip was a really hard work especially to record the scenes for the video, we put so much efforts in everything we do, from the live sessions to composition from new tracks and album.
6. Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?
We are all surrounded by music everyday and as a band we are connected to us and to the music we create, we are also like a real family cause we are friends since many years so this is also our power and our way to stay focus on the work we do.
7. It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?
Of course the first challenge is to work on social media today, because music market is saturated and is not easy to reach the success, but we work really hard to the aim.
8. How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?
We are trying our best to find the best way to promote our music.
9. How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?
Thinking together to find a solution for every promotion or music we want to create and without feeling overwhelmed.
10. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?
Follow us on our social media channels, enjoy our music and we would be happy to see you at our concerts.
11. Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?
As we are like a family of friends we enjoy our free time hang out together, going to concerts and having fun.
