Dragonknight – Legions (Scarlet Records)
Legions delivers power metal, as you know it, without too many genre bending differences, but they deliver the very best version of it with a collection of exciting songs, written wonderfully and executed to perfection.

Sarcator – Swarming Angels & Flies (Century Media)
A cacophony of extreme noise that combines thrash, death, and black metal in an ugly, but notable way. Sarcator’s intensity is at the forefront, and they deliver a breathless explosion of heaviness with impressive aplomb.

Dunes – Land Of The Blind (Ripple Music)
Fuzzed out to the point where the teeth are set on edge, but with lashings of desert-soaked groove, Dunes’ new album takes the best parts of the genre, bows down to the riff, throws in plenty of psychedelia, a sprinkling of doom, and so much more. If you’re a fan of the stoner sound in general you will find plenty to enjoy with Dunes, but you’ll also find an addictive mix of the old and the new that leaves a much stronger impression.

Thy Kingdom Will Burn – The Loss and Redemption (Scarlet Records)
There are a lot of reasons to fall in love with this latest Thy Kingdom Will Burn offering, but none may be as obvious as the bombast that the album has. This is melodeath, but it’s grand melodeath. Delivering intensity not only through thick layers of metal but through bright and brilliant melody.

Cerebral Hemorrhage – Exempting Reality (Comatose Music)
A brutish showcase of death metal at its filthiest. Seven tracks that make your skin crawl, create hot flushes of fear, and leave you feeling like you’ve picked up some horrid disease just by hearing them.
