Interview: Boobs Lickers (Written)
Psychedelic funk rockers, Boobs Lickers are gearing up for a very busy 2025, not just releasing new music, but playing live. Here, we get to know them a little better.
1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.
Here we are! We’re the “Boobs Lickers,” an Italian band playing what we like to call “Psychedelic Funk Rock.” On bass and vocals, there’s Giosca, on electric guitar, Summanco, and on drums, Tio! Music is in our blood, and playing our own tunes is what brought us together over time and keeps us united today. We met back in school, and between classes, inspired by our idols, we started writing our own songs!
2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?
Like I said before, “Psychedelic Funk Rock.” Each of us comes from a different musical background, but what keeps us connected and drives our project forward is our love for funk!
What’s currently keeping you busy? A new album/EP/single release? A new video? Playing live, or planning ahead?
We’ve been on a new journey for just under a year now, working with a new record label, and we’re focusing on some new releases! Right now, we’re gearing up for an awesome tour in California, where we’ll play five shows at some iconic and prestigious venues. Plus, we’ll be recording a new single!
What is about this current period that is particularly exciting for you?
We’re about to embark on an out-of-this-world experience! We’ll visit iconic places where music history was made, where our idols were born, and we’ll meet new people and environments that will enrich our journey.
Tell me about the work that has gone into making it a reality and what it means to you.
Making dreams come true requires hard work, and that’s exactly what we’ve been doing to fuel and achieve our goals. Our main aim is to play our music and connect with the hearts of those who listen to us!
Making music and being creative can be a very positive experience and can be very good for the mind. In what way has making music had a positive impact on your mental health?
It depends! Making music definitely lifts us spiritually, and the stage is where we unleash all our passion and energy. However, the creative process isn’t always “healthy.” Sometimes, we have to tap into darker and heavier emotions, which, even though they can be draining, are powerful sources of inspiration for our music.
It can also be incredibly challenging, more so in the modern times. What have been some challenging aspects of making music and how have you overcome them?
The hardest part is carving out a space in an oversaturated world where the supply far outweighs the demand. There are millions of emerging artists dropping music and starting their journeys every day, just like we are. We tackle these challenges with the right attitude, determination, and a drive to create something new and meaningful every time.
How do you handle the online aspects of being in a band? Having to put out content constantly, promoting across several different social media platforms, and having your success measured in likes and follows?
Social media is important. When we have the time and resources, we stay active—posting, creating content, and promoting our gigs and live events. But honestly, our biggest success comes from playing live, where we consistently gain real followers and connect with real people. That’s the most rewarding part.
How do you make this part of things enjoyable, and fulfilling, for yourself?
Sometimes, you need to be just as creative on social media as you are with music. Just like writing a song, even a simple post can take a lot of dedication. When the inspiration is there, creating online content can be fun and satisfying.
Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support you?
We’d ask our listeners to always support us and help spread the word!
Outside of music, what do you like to do to relax?
Outside of music, we like to chill at home, hit the gym, hang out at coffee shops, take our dogs for walks, and spend time with our closest friends.
Where can people find you?
You can find us on all platforms:
