Raised by Owls Cover Limp Bizkit’s ‘Break Stuff’ & Launch Charity Fundraiser

Derby-native comedy death metal quintet Raised By Owls have dropped a cover of Limp Bizkit’s iconic ‘Break Stuff’ as their 2024 Christmas single, alongside a hilarious music video and a charity fundraiser.

Discussing the single, the band states:

Ever wondered what Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit would sound like if it was recorded by a death metal band? Well, wonder no more…

Anybody who has seen Raised By Owls live this year will have noticed that we’ve been closing our set with an extreme metal cover of Limp Bizkit’s mega-hit, Break Stuff. It’s been going down a storm among our fans and we knew early on that we wanted to jump into the studio to record our warped interpretation of this nu-metal banger.

The cover comes following an incredibly busy year for the unit, having landed a much-revered main stage slot at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air, as well as a highly successful 12-date run across the UK on their Death To False Comedy Metal tour, in support of their brand new album, Vol. 3: The Satirical Verses. Setting their sights on giving back, Raised By Owls are pledging to donate all proceeds from the brand new single to the Ashbourne Animal Welfare charity between the 6th and 24th of December. Speaking on their chosen charity, the band states:

Ashbourne Animal Welfare is a wonderful local charity who take in, care for, and rehome unwanted or stray cats and dogs. The charity was founded in 1988 and has managed to help nearly 10K animals to date. The charity receives no government or lottery backing so is entirely dependent on the generosity of supporter’s donations.

This isn’t the first Christmas charity single the band have launched, either, with the band raising the following in previous years:

£160 for The Trussel Trust
£513 for The Sophie Lancaster Foundation
£1874 for Crisis
£1800 for Mind

The band speak further on their hopes going into this year’s fundraiser, stating:

We’re super excited to work with Ashbourne Animal Welfare on this Christmas single and we hope we can raise a good amount of money to really make a difference to the great work that they do.
