Video Premiere: Novacrow – Not Your Mannequin

Novacrow, the dark and delicious alternative metal three-piece, released their debut album ‘Look at Me Now’ back in September 2022. A fantastic album that showcased the best of Novacrow up that point. With an eclectic sound that combines a wild blend of genres, infused with horror influences and a touch of humour, it was a thrill ride from beginning to end.

On that album there is a track called ‘Not Your Mannequin’, which proved to be one of the heavier and more metal orientated tracks on the album. It’s a banger, a head banger, and we’re happy to bring you the premiere of the video for ‘Not Your Mannequin’.

Before that though, Federico “Freddy” Spera (bass/backing vocals) shared the following:

We here at Novacrow have spent the past few months with the world’s top researchers to find out how to construct the world’s most perfect music video. Countless hours of research and a few billion dollars later, the world’s top scientists have finally given us the secret formula to making the ideal music video, designed to tug at our viewers heart strings and to truly encapsulate what music means to both the listeners and musicians. It would truly reflect the inner turmoil experienced by artists everywhere and was guaranteed to change the world.

However, we decided to scrap all that and make a horrifically green-screened music video of us as puppets. Here’s a couple of fun facts/talking points about the puppets used:

  • The puppets for Kitty and Jonyx were used by Jonyx’s brothers in a video they made to congratulate Kitty and Jonyx on their wedding.
  • The t-rex drummer is Kitty and Jonyx’s cat favourite toy.
  • Freddy drunkenly won the big husky plushie you see in the “crowd” at Download festival at the fairground free throw game.
  • Some of the puppets in the audience consist of Sheamus the dog, Walter-melon, and a Ziltoid the Omniscient puppet.
  • A green morph suit was purchased from Temu for the video and it stunk like high hell. We would not recommend ordering a Temu morph suit.
