Horror Short Review: Double Vision (2024)

Credit where credit is due, with her first narrative short, Isabelle Kiser has delivered a highly professional horror that has strong tension throughout, features plenty of creep factor, and has a satisfying finish.

Not only has Isabelle Kiser written the story, but she has also shot the short, edited it, and even acted in it. Starring as a young woman on her way home at night when she spies something strange. No matter though, she’s close to home, and once inside, she is safe. At least until that something strange follows her home and finds a way inside.

It’s very creepy, and there are some wonderfully done lingering shots that deliver scares, featuring a character who reacts like a human being (for the most part – there is an odd ‘lights off’ moment). The tension comes from the mystery around what this entity is and why it has chosen this woman to torment. Answers that will never be revealed, but that hardly matters as the journey is so enjoyable.
