1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Tellers Scribe started with the meeting of like minded souls back in the year 2022 in the town of Hertford, bonding over tales that needed to be told in the medium of metal. We would describe ourselves as a five piece Dickensian Metal Band and society of storytellers.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

Our own brand of metal which we have coined Dickensian Metal or Victoriana… think Steampunk meets Doom and Groove.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

We have a new single “Bella” on its way accompanied by a music video on 6th September. We also have a couple of other releases due to come out this year and are currently working on a second album. We have a show in Cambridge on the 4th October at The Melbourne Rock Club.

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

The feeling you get when you come together after writing from afar and finally get to hear a song in its complete form and knowing it works both structurally and musically. Knowing you’re playing with the right musicians, the way you lock in with each other is indescribable.

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

Beating the algorithm…. social media can be a challenge, your content isn’t always visible and it can be hard to build traction especially in this digital age. We try to make our content interesting and consistent to grab people’s attention and just keep persevering.

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

We try not to let it overwhelm us, we have swiftly learned that likes and follows don’t always equal ticket sales and people attending shows. We try to put up as much content as possible but we make it as relevant to our brand as possible, we’re not just posting for the sake of it, we want something our audience can engage with.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

There needs to be more support for smaller acts, people forget that the big names that tour used to be in the same position, they could use their influence to support grass roots music and venues. Just by adding a couple of local bands in each city etc to support a larger act could mean a bit of traction for them.

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support your music?

Like and follow us on Facebook and Instagram and subscribe to our YouTube channel. Also come say hi at one of our shows, catch us live as that’s where the real magic is.

9. Outside of the music, what’s do you do to relax?

Relax? We’re not sure what that means, we’re usually pretty busy making music videos, collecting stories for the next album, going to gigs to watch our friends bands and if there’s any time left usually eating or exploring.

10. Where can people find you?
