There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Rogue Limb

One of the most hotly contested Metal 2 the Masses this year was Nottingham with some really strong bands playing across all the heats and those who made it further proving they were the absolute cream of the scene. Which should speak volumes about the quality that exists in Rogue Limb, who went on to win the entire thing.

So, for those not in the know, just who are Rogue Limb? They’re a Nottingham-based two-piece that was birthed in 2021. Playing a sound that is rooted in the hardcore and metalcore genres, but with twists that see them genre-bend in delightful ways. Rest assured, whatever Rogue Limb are doing, it’s always very freaking heavy.

Rogue Limb has, in a very short amount of time, built up one hell of a reputation for their live shows. Deafening, frenetic, furious, and liable to give you heart palpitations, Rogue Limb live is an experience that leaves you changed as they belt out tracks from their debut album, ‘Actus Reus’, released October 2023.

While there’s still plenty of juice left in the tank of that album, it’s not even a year old, Rogue Limb aren’t a band who like to sit still for too long. New music is in the works, but first, all the focus is on delivering a Bloodstock festival performance for the ages. The festival isn’t going to know what hit it, and nor are the brave patrons who venture near the tent during Rogue Limb’s set.

Are you brave enough? Find out on the Friday of the festival over on the New Blood stage. It’s going to be one to remember, but don’t take our word for it though, we spoke to Rogue Limb about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

The two of us have been playing together for about 15 years in this band or that, but we’ve only been doing Rogue Limb for about three years. The idea for the band was born while we were drinking in Midgard at BOA 2021, so Bloodstock is like hallowed ground for us – it’s astonishing that we’re back, as artists, just three years later. We’ve made a ton of friends here and Greg even met his partner at Bloodstock 2013. It’s been a long-held dream to hit the stage some day, and we can’t believe that day has arrived!

Our set will give Bloodstockers plenty to chew on. We often surprise crowds with how much noise we can generate for two people. Our sound is frantic, varied, and draws influence from the whole scope of heavy music, so brace yourself for upbeat hardcore bangers, sludgy grooves, and mathy chaos with intense duelling vocals. A mate recently drescribed us as “a claustrophobic maelstrom of awesome intensity”, which is nuts, but he’s not incorrect. Bring it on!
