There are a lot of bands on the bill, and some you may not be that familiar with, which is where we come in. As is our yearly custom, we will be running features on many of the bands playing, aiming to give you some insight into who they are, what they do, and why they are a must see at the festival.

Reverent Son

The Essex Metal 2 the Masses events have been producing some of the strongest New Blood bands of the past few years and once again, the event has delivered a very strong band in Reverent Son, who battled though the competition to emerge as winners.

Arriving on the scene with a slew of singles in 2021; ‘Stone Ocean’, ‘Iron Monger’, and ‘Sabertooth’, Reverent Son turned some heads immediately. All thanks to their high energy shows, positive outlook, and intriguing sound. A sound that melds old-school 70’s style hard rock with big riffs, progressive imagination, modern metal infusions, and an overall laid back attitude that keeps the word ‘fun’ at the forefront of things.

Which is an aspect that really does make their live shows stand out. Its not just about rocking hard, it’s rocking out, and at Bloodstock, The Iron Monger is said to be making an appearance, among other aspects that should delight attendees. Especially when you know Reverent Son have a track called ‘Circled by Sharks’ that is inspired by Jaws. Let’s all hope it’s a dry festival this year.

For now, the focus is Bloodstock, but Reverent Son have a busy latter part of 2024 lined up already and chances are, following Bloodstock, they’re going to be in even more demand. We can all join in on the fun by heading over to the New Blood stage on the Friday of the festival. It’s going to be great, but don’t take our word for it though, we spoke to Reverent Son about what it means to play Bloodstock 2024, what the festival means overall, and what attendees can expect from their show.

It’s really exciting for us to play Bloodstock this year, we’ve all been in various bands for years playing in the trenches so to get a chance to finally play a big and established festival is a real honour for us.

A few of us have been visiting Bloodstock as fans for years so to get to be on the other side of the mirror and see from a performer’s perspective is great!

We feel that because we got through M2TM Essex, we have a duty to fly the flag this year for all of the bands that are from our county. Essex breeds good bands, so we need to lead by example this year and not let them down. It’s also a great chance for us to meet other upcoming hard-working bands, promoters and gain insight into the workings of a professional festival!

You can expect a fast paced, balls to the wall stage show, with our mascot Robot Wizard, battling Cyclops and to be pelted with Inflatable sharks! So bring your water wings and inflatables because you’re gonna need them for our closer, Circled by Sharks (Jaws inspired) song! Can’t wait to see you there!
