EP Review: Deadaudiosaints – To Whom It May Concern… (Self Released)
Yorkshire-based electronic alt-rock three-piece Deadaudiosaints will release their new EP, ‘To Whom It May Concern…’, on May 3rd, 2024.
It’s not easy to get the balance of electronica and rock right, with many-a-band weighting it one way or the other. It’s rare that a band comes along that blends the elements so well that every aspect feels vital. Who am I talking about? Deadaudiosaints, of course. Who bring us an EP that does a fantastic job of marrying erratic electronica with anthemic alternative rock.
Something that is made unequivocally clear from the start with Jaded, especially when the synths just soar in the chorus. Get used to that though, as Deadaudiosaints have some very animated choruses throughout, with Anymore’s alt-rock focus really taking off when it hits.
Obsession is quite a good track too, thanks to some erratic guitar moments and drama-laced vocals. Although it’s going to be the errant melody and bursts of energy within Crucify that might be everyone’s favourite come the end.
The enjoyable experience is capped off with the very infectious groove of Yourself and the vigorous Broken Promises. Deadaudiosaints making every track feel different, but cohesive. If this is your introduction to this band, you’re likely to be coming back for more.
