Game Review: Rooten (Xbox Series X)

As far as dark and twisted atmosphere goes, Amortiz Games’ Rooten is a very impressive game. One that aims to create an ever growing feeling of dread, and nails it.

The story surrounds an isolated research station deep in the woods somewhere. Contact has been lost, and you’ve been sent to find out why. Arriving at the location, you find it empty and seemingly abandoned. Your return ride isn’t due for a few days, so you might as well spend some time exploring the woods to see if you can find out what happened. After all, those pulsating pods and feelings of being watched, probably aren’t normal.
