1. Hello! Thank you for taking the time to chat to us. First things first, tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started.

Hi! We’re Fate’s Hollow, an alternative/prog rock band from Manchester, UK. My name is Reece, I play guitar and sing in the band. We got started around July last year, something like that. I had been toying with the idea of starting a new band for a little while, came up with some demos and stuff. I threw an ad up online looking for members, thats how i found Tom and James, our bassist and lead guitarist. I sent them the demos, explained to them the whole concept idea and that was it, they were in.

2. Someone comes to you and asks you to sum up what kind of music you play – what do you tell them?

Alternative rock with some heavy prog and metal influences in places. Very theatrical and almost musical theater like lyrically. We like to surprise people.

3. What’s currently going on in your camp? New releases? Tours? Etc.

We actually just released our first single The End Of Summer not long ago, that acts as a sort of sonic prologue to the story we’re trying to tell with these songs. It’s also the very first song I wrote for the band and one of the very first we worked on. We’ve got a whole bunch of shows lined up for the year and we’re heading into pre-production on our first album right now, actually. Exciting stuff!

4. What has been the most positive experience of making music to date for you?

The reception to The End Of Summer blew us away. We recorded it quite a while ago and due to various setbacks had to wait to release it, so we were not really sure what to expect, but everyone we’ve heard from seems to really enjoy it and we love that, its extremely humbling and gratifying at the same time.

5. Likewise, what has been some of the more challenging aspects and how have you overcome them?

The most difficult aspect of being in Fate’s Hollow is the personality clashes haha. We’re all very diversified musically, our tastes are all wildly different, though they do intersect in places. We all also have had completely different experiences in the industry in the past, and everyone has their own idea of how we should do things. It can be difficult to strike a balance, but we always do. Compromise!

6. How do you handle the modern expectations of being in a band? Always online, having to put out content constantly, your success measured in likes and follows?

Its weird, its very weird. You see some bands out there with a bazillion followers on facebook but their shows are empty. Its a strange landscape to navigate as a band now, especially when youre like us and have been out of the game for a while. We’ve had an excellent guiding hand with our manager Harry when it comes to that stuff.

7. What’s something that really ‘grinds your gears’ about the industry/business these days and what would you propose is done to combat it?

Hmm, thats actually quite a difficult question. If I absolutely had to pick something to dislike here it would probably be this super overproduced, compressed to shit sound that every modern band is going for. It doesn’t do it for me at all, but I’m ready to admit that thats probably because everything I listen to is 40 years old.

8. Speaking directly to listeners – what would you ask they do to help support your music?

If you wanted to support us, the absolute best thing you could do is just engage with us. Check out the music, show your friends, read the story. If you enjoy it, thats amazing! If we’re ever nearby on a show, come by and say hello, talk to us!

9. Outside of the music, what’s do you do to relax?

I read a lot of comic books, a lot haha. I like to write a bit too, mostly as a hobby that no one will ever see, but some of it will get out eventually im sure. Other than that I have a bit of an obsession with trading card games, but thats between us.

10. Where can people find you?

We’re on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and we have our own website too! Check out our music on Bandcamp too.
