Horror Short Review: Mama Agnes (2023)
From the talented creator, Alexanderthetitan comes Mama Agnes, a horror short that comes in at just over two and a half minutes and stars Samari Ijezie and Kylah Whittaker.
A young woman, at home, is trying to get hold of her mother, Mama Agnes as something in the house smells rotten. Opening up some windows, she is startled by her mother standing in another room, with a strange look on her face.
Concerned, the girl asks if she is ok, but Mama Agnes replies that everything is fine, and then the girls’ phone rings. It’s Mama Agnes, and everything is not fine.
The short ends here, and it seems like the viewer not seeing what happens next, is the ending. A perfectly fine ending, as the creepy vibes set the imagination aflame and most will be able to conjure wild scenarios as to what came next. However, in an unexpected turn of events, this story comes in book format, written by W. A. Henderson.
Want to know what happens next? Pick up the book here and read it.
The thing is, even if you don’t want to do that, this short delivers compelling chills and satisfying horror none the less. You’re supposed to feel uncomfortable and unsure, as anyone would in the situation, and Alexanderthetitan nails this.
