Album Review: Kryptoxik Mortality – Interdimensional Calamitous Extirpation (Comatose Music)

As grim as it gets, Kryptoxik Mortality go for gore with this horror-laden, disturbing, and belligerent slice of slamming death metal. Featuring eleven outrageously heavy slices of pain and suffering. A familiar tale for this style of metal, but one that is always welcome, none the less. Especially when it comes from such a devastating band.

Kryptoxik Mortality showcase a discernible natural aptitude for brutality here, and it certainly ensures an impression is left. Interdimensional Calamitous Extirpation is filled with myriad of disgusting sounds, coming at the listener in thick and pulpy fashion. From the moment the instruments create a cacophony of noise on Outer Dimensional Gateway, to the moment Fetid Human Incubation introduces the vocal growls, it becomes abundantly clear that this album is going to create rivers of blood.

There is no quarter given as Kryptoxik Mortality deliver track after track of crushing beastliness. Impending Monolithic Desolation, Ingesting the Wretched, Fragmented Atmospheric Ingress, and Extraterrestrial Desecration, making up the middle portion of the album in nightmarish fashion. Don’t expect to hear an experimental take, this is death metal in all its slam glory.

Case in point, the second half of the record is just more sumptuous and savage devastation. The destructive force of Kryptoxik Mortality as potent on tracks like Fiendish Amalgamations, Metaphysical Dissection, the title track, Multiversal Enigmatic Deformities, and Fractured Molecule Deconstruction, as it was at the start. They are undeniably one of the most severe sounding bands heard this year.
