Bringing technical and progressive deathcore to the New Blood stage at Bloodstock 2023, Voidwalker have been active since 2018. After solidifying their line-up, the Leicester based band set about refining their sound, leading to the release of their debut EP, Democratic Fever Dream in 2020.

A four-track (or five if you include the bonus track) release that showcased a smart, brutal, and addictive style of deathcore. Voidwalker had arrived and the scene wasn’t going to be the same again. Which anyone who saw the band live during that period, can attest to.

Alas, along came COVID, and like just about everyone, Voidwalker were forced to halt their impressive march forward. They waited, patiently, and returned with aplomb. First, with the crushing and captivating single Tar Stained Lips. Then entering the Leicester Metal 2 the Masses, where they went on to win the finals. Which took place at Uprising this year, in front of a huge crowd.

Mission accomplished, for now. Voidwalker had earned their place at Bloodstock and will not just be bringing the hefty tunes they have already sent out into the world with them. They have some new stuff to (hopefully) make the New Blood audience go wild. Tracks that will, no doubt, appear on their second EP expected to be released later this year.

The future is looking extremely bright for Voidwalker, and the expectation is that everyone will come away feeling like they’ve been through a war come their New Blood set. They play on the Friday of the festival; can you handle it? Don’t take our word for it though. We asked Tribe of Ghosts what it means to play the festival again so soon. What Bloodstock means to them, what attendees can expect from the show, and what benefits they see from moving to the Saturday of the festival. They had this to say:

It still hasn’t quite set in yet! We’re really looking forward to showing the largest audience we’ve ever played to the stuff we’ve been concocting for the last five or so years!

Playing at Bloodstock is great honour for us. One of our favourite things about playing shows is meeting lots of new people and with the size of the festival we’re excited to meet lots of new faces (and hopefully see some familiar ones as well).

Attendees can expect a chaotic juxtaposition of crushing heaviness, blistering technicality, tight grooves and a progressive metal mentality, all neatly placed within non-standard song structures.
