Established in 2016 and hailing from the East Midlands, Beyond Your Design are a four-piece melodic metalcore band who epitomise hard work and grit when it comes to the getting their name out and about.
While they might have been born in 2016, we didn’t get our first taste of music on record until 2019 when they released the ‘From Apathy to Waste’ single and immediately made one hell of a splash. That was then followed by the ‘Gods & Men’ single in 2021, and a few months after, the ‘Together We Rise’ EP.
With this EP, Beyond Your Design had officially arrived and the buzz around them was louder than ever. That would be enough for most to relax, get out and about live, and wait a few years before doing anything new.
Not Beyond Your Design though, who spent the next year and a half building up their reputation as an unstoppable live band and releasing killer single after killer single. Each, a highlight in their own right, but with No Mercy and United We Fall standing out more than any other. The former because it features Hellfekted, and the latter because it is such an absolute rager.
Not willing to lose any momentum, before 2022 ended, they released a remix edition of the United We Fall EP, called Reunited We Fall. Which featured variations on the four tracks, including a brilliant 8-bit version of No Mercy and a stunning orchestral version of the title track.
2023 has just seen the band continue their impressive rise as they entered the Nottingham Metal 2 the Masses competition and won. While also releasing two new singles. The emphatic and energising Through The Veil Of Your Deceit, which features the brilliant Recall The Remains. With the bullish and brutal Saints + Sinners being their latest offering.
All this hard work has well and truly paid off though and Bloodstock 2023 is in for one hell of a treat come the Sunday of the festival. Don’t take out word for it though, we spoke to them about what it means to play the festival, what Bloodstock means to them, and what attendees can expect from their show. They had this to say:
Bloodstock has always been described as ‘like going home’. It is an honour to be included in that sentiment.
We first attended Bloodstock back in 2015 when it was headlined by Trivium, one of our biggest idols since Beyond Your Design’s inception. Since then, we’ve witnessed the likes of Lamb Of God, Gojira, Sylosis, Heart Of A Coward, and Jinjer take to the stage. In addition to seeing our friends in Recall The Remains, Hellfekted, 28 Double, Portrayal Of Ruinn and Draconian Reign crush the New Blood Stage. For 8 years we’ve wanted to add our name to that list.
We’ve always prioritised the fans over everything. Whether you’re having a rough day or going through something; we’re there to help. Whether it’s for a brief moment, or 30 minutes, we’re there to provide an escape from the mire of everyday life. To share with you our own personal experiences, and lyrical themes around societal and political challenges. And to provide you with that release.
For thousands of people, Bloodstock is that escape. And we’re incredibly humbled to be worthy of bringing our live show to the best Heavy Metal Festival in the UK.
Bring your voices. Raise your horns. And join us on the New Blood Stage on Sunday!
