Bloodstock 2023 Band Feature: Those Once Loyal

Bloodstock 2023 takes place from August 10th to August 13th. Across 4 stages, the festival boasts an incredible line-up that includes headliners Killswitch Engage, Meshuggah, and Megadeth. As always, we will be featuring some of the bands that will be playing this year’s festival. Giving you a rundown of who they are, what they’ve released, and what you can expect come August.

As strong as the Jägermeister stage is at Bloodstock 2023 is, it’s missing something. It’s missing some hardcore. It’s missing some melodic hardcore. Say hello to Nottingham’s Those Once Loyal, a band who take influence from all your favourite ‘core’ bands and turn them into something distinctly ‘them’. Something you can stomp, gurn and sing along too.

Having formed in 2019, Those Once Loyal hit the ground running with the release of their Between the Line single in 2020. Following that up with Relentless Cycle and Second Hand Smoke in 2022. Before dropping the Relentless Cycle EP in January of this year. As well as garnering a strong reputation for killer live shows up and down the country.

Think hot riffs and pounding drums that sear and smash their way through the mind. Savage speed, crushing breakdowns, meaty metal vocals, and choruses that you just can’t help but love. Those Once Loyal are delightfully more anthemic than you first might think.

They already have the make-up of a band who have been on the road much longer than they have. Which means they’re more than ready to cause some chaos on the Jägermeister stage at Bloodstock 2023. They’ll help break you out of any Sunday fugue state you’re in when they play.
