EP Review: Wifecult – Kindness In Clarity, An EP (Self Released)
Brisbane-based alt-rockers Wifecult will release their new EP, ‘Kindness in Clarity, an EP’ on June 9th, 2023.
With plenty of heart and soul, Wifecult introduce their new EP with an initial clattering of instruments, but quickly, their alt sensibilities become clear. This track taking on a more dramatic stance with earnest melodies, before kicking the rock tone up a notch in the chorus. It’s got an off-kilter structure that keeps you guessing throughout.
Brighter and a bit more energised, Jasmine has a nostalgic rock feel to it. The drum beat gets the foot-tapping, the guitar melody warms the soul, and the vocals offer up plenty of passion. Whereas Wearing Thin is more pensive, while still being undeniably infectious.
Finally, it’s Rose, a dreamy pop and rock combination that allows you to lean back and really take in the Wifecult sound. One of four anthems on this EP. What it lacks in bite, it makes up for in attractiveness. It’s no surprise, based off the entire EP, that Wifecult are getting plenty of attention now.
