1. How did you get started as a band?

Hi thanks for the opportunity to chat with you.

This current Project is Lost Dogs Of Ultimo and started in 2020 as an outlet and idea from covid lockdowns walking the backstreets and laneways of Melbourne at night photographing Street art and old posters and making little video pieces then recording experimental music like a soundtrack to the street subculture.

2. How would you describe your sound?

The sound has evolved and grown from surf punk skate music through to reggae infused beats and samples and heavy driving guitar punk. It also changes as it has a rotation of collaborators from musicians, engineers and activist vocalists adding their influences and ideas to the tracks.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

My all time favourite is The Clash Sandinista album that fusion of punk and Reggae with studio technology they brought in was fantastic. Paul Simmonens’ bass playing and energy went up a level for me. I also like Alan Vega and Suicide from the experimental sounds they explored.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

I guess I’m focusing on trying to connect music and art I’m making to get across a wide range of people. I would obviously like to be able to monetise the project but as an independent artist my autonomy limits the push and exposure I’m going to receive from streaming.

I hope one day it would be more fair and equitable but I will just keep my focus on creating and releasing for now.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

My other joy comes from street art culture and festivals seeing younger emerging artists and bands bring their raw energy and creativity out.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We are trying to connect with a new management to help bring and audio visual performance show out and trying to collaborate with visual street artists and performers.
