Band Interview: Debunk

1. How did you get started as a band?

Originally the band formed in 2011 in the north of Italy. Formed with members of Raw Power and Los Fastidios (two Italian legendary band) After some shows the band signed with the label “Sorry Mom!) for the first LP “Doped Life” in 2019. During the quarantine in 2020 Debunk wrote and recorded the second full length album called “Depression, disorder & paranoia, released on April 2022 by the same label.

In these years the band shared the stage with The Casualties, Lagwagon, Gbh, Ratos de Porao, Nuclear Assault, Lion’s Law and Nabat.

2. How would you describe your sound?

It’s a mix between Punk and Hardcore.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

Inspired by Ramones, Good Riddance, Nofx and Exploited.

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

Of course bands have more visibility but for selling music it’s not good cuz you can find everything on social media.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

We usually hang out with friends, drink beers and join the shows around Italy.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

We are looking for European tour or some shows across Europe but as you know with the pandemic situation It’s hard to fix for the near future. We’re gonna play at the end of July in a big festival in Italy with Youth of today and many famous bands. We’re working for the new album too.
