Band Interview: Broken Past

Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with heavy rock/metal band, Broken Past.

1. How did you get started as a band?

Tony had originally started the band with a few other musicians and as time evolved and things changed around 2018 Wayne, Bryan and Frank had joined the band and we have all now become broken past.

2. How would you describe your sound?

I would say our sound is a heavy rock/metal were kind of a cross between Black Label Society which there a huge influence for us meets a Black Sabbath meets an AC/DC kind of twist. We just kind of get together and do our thing and we’ve been building our style and sound.

3. What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?

4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?

I would say the rise in YouTube has helped us. It’s put us out to places where some may have never heard of us or other bands for that matter.

5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?

When we are not making music, we all have jobs. Tony’s a tattoo artist, Wayne is an electrician, Frank is inventory coordinator, Bryan is in the automotive industry. Our music is our escape from the regular day to day stuff.

6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?

Right now our plans are to finish our full length which is being recorded and produced by John Jd Deservio of Black label Society. We are hoping to have that done before the Fall. Musically we are still growing as a band and playing a lot of shows around our area of NJ. Tour? Ya never know what the future will hold for Broken Past but I assure you we are going to make our mark.
