1. Hi Hearts & Hand Grenades. How have you been doing since we last spoke?

Hello! We have been busy getting out there playing shows and working on setting up some new tour dates. We have those posted on our website and social media pages as soon as we can announce them. We also have a new single coming out in August that we are really excited to share with everybody.

2. Are you still riding the wave created by ‘Between the Lines’ and how have you found the overall reaction to it now that the dust is settling?

Between The Lines was a true testament to where we want to go musically with this band. It’s heavier than the first album and I think we’ve found our stride now with what will come next. The reactions have been very positive and continue to propel us moving forward into our newest music are working on currently.

3. Tell us a little bit about Human – why did you chose to cover this track and what meaning it has to you both personally and as a group?

Human is just a great song all around. Musically the original version was very successful and rightly so. It’s catchy and lyrically it holds true to probably every person that’s ever questioned themselves when facing an internal struggle. Personally, it interested me because we don’t know everything and we realistically can’t know everything. You learn through experiences and consequences and you can’t expect someone else to have all the answers for you. You have to find those yourself.

4. Does a cover like this go someway to showcasing a wide and varied taste that might exist in the band and serve as influences?

We all have different influences musically and I think that is what makes us tick. We bring those elements in to our own music choices and what comes out is our own blend. This cover was a great opportunity for us to take a more rock R&B sound and turn it into a heavier H&HG sound that allowed us to push ourselves a bit and stretch our creativity.

5. Is this single part of a bigger picture and what does the rest of 2022 look like for Hearts & Hand Grenades?

I can say for sure that we are always refining our methods and pushing ourselves to grow musically and as a group. The sound we bring to Human is the next step in our evolution and I’m very excited for what’s to come for us. We are currently working on a third album, a big tour announcement, and all I can say is that the best is yet to come!
