Bloodstock 2022 Band Feature: FyreSky
Bloodstock Open Air 2022 takes place from August 11th and August 14th with a line-up that might be one of the best the festival has ever put on. A wide array of rock and metal acts spread across four stages, it’s looking likely to be a weekend not to be missed. Pick up tickets here.
Every band playing the New Blood stage has earned their place, it’s part of what makes the stage so very special. For many bands, it has been a journey that has taken many years, turning rejection and disappointment into triumph. One such band is Kent/Essex group, FyreSky who have transformed themselves into one of the most exciting live acts in the entire country.
Goth rock that seeps into your soul…
Winning Kent, one of the most challenging Metal 2 the Masses of 2022, FyreSky are band who have scratched and fought their way to this stage. Having tried to get through the Essex Metal 2 the Masses in the past and coming up short. Rather than get down about that, FyreSky knuckled down and set about improving their craft resulting in this much anticipated appearance at the festival this year.
It’s not just about live though, even if FyreSky are truly a spectacular sight in the flesh, they’ve also got the records to back that up. 2016’s EP ‘The Circle and 2019’s debut album, ‘The Grand Illusion’.
An album we loved (9/10) and described as being:
Filled with catchy hooks, burly riffs and a welcome touch of hard rock. The gothic edge that makes FyreSky so unique runs through this album like a thick, blue vein.
A follow-up album is in the works but for now, it’s all about the opportunity to play Bloodstock. Something that clearly means a lot to FyreSky. They’ve earned this and their Friday night set on the New Blood stage promises to be an unforgettable experience. We’re excited and so are the band. Just read what each member had to say when asked about playing Bloodstock and what fans can expect from their show:
Gabriel (Vocals/Guitar)
To finally grace the stages of Bloodstock, is the light at the end of what seemed like a pipe dream. We can’t wait, and we will pour every last drop of our hearts out on the stage, and give back to all those who helped us get there.
Kris (Bass/Backing Vocals)
Having spent many years the other side of the barrier to play Bloodstock this is a dream come true. We are gonna perform our hearts our and give it all we have to do the Kent Live music scene proud.
Bruce (Drums)
Being welcomed to play at Bloodstock and to share our music and the stage with so many other bands at one of the biggest metal music festivals of the year, is truly something I never dreamed of reaching. I will bring the energy and the musicianship that has gotten us to where we are currently in our career. for everyone to enjoy and be a part of this special performance.
