Director Alexanderthetitan brings us Hoodie. An imaginative and frightening horror short that stars Xhaania Wright, Andria B. Langston and Darius Mulbah.

Two young women named Janelle (Wright) and Sade (Langston) are out late on their way home from a night out. As they discuss their experience, they arrive at a point of separation and individually head off to their cars. Janelle’s is on the other side of an alley and she insists on going back to it alone, saying her goodbyes to Sade.

As she walks through the alley, she isn’t really paying attention to her surroundings as she sends some text messages. This means she fails to notice the person standing in the centre of the alley until she is practically on top of them.

The person has their back to Janelle, the only notable thing being the dirty yellow hoodie that they are wearing.

A little freaked out and considering turning back, Janelle decides to walk past the person carefully, who hasn’t moved an inch. Until she gets past them and looks over to see their face. Then the hoodie-wearing person speaks.

Hoodie is a classy short, one that shows talent in all departments. From how it is shot to the acting to the music and the lighting. There’s a real professional feel to it.

A good horror short should leave some things for your imagination, some blanks for you to fill in and Hoodie does this very well. It has a clear beginning, middle and end but really crafts a dark mystery around the character simply known as Hoodie. Creepy, tense and interesting. It’s a great horror short.
