EP Review: Stabbing – Ravenous Psychotic Onslaught (Comatose Music)
Texas brutal death metal band Stabbing will release their debut EP ‘Ravenous Psychotic Onslaught’ on December 10th, 2021 via Comatose Music.
What’s more apt? The name of this band or the title of the EP? Both heavily describe the death metal mugging that is delivered here. This one is going to hurt.
Four frothing, maddening and blasts of pure brutal aggression. There is no other way to describe this EP as anything but vicious. Stabbing want to leave you shell-shocked and sore all over. A task they achieve by simply hammering away as hard as possible.
Is it messy sounding? A bit, but there’s something so appealing about that. Stabbing’s focus on speed and heaviness is clear but there is song structure and the subtle, but noticeable shifts are electrifying.
It gets in, fucks shit up and gets right back out. Once you’ve taken a moment to recover, you’ll likely be up for another beating at their hands. A nasty, nasty addition to the world of death metal.
