Bloodstock 2021 Band Feature: Wall

Elliot and Ryan Cole should need no introduction. The brothers are renowned in the doom/stoner scene having formed Desert Storm some 15 years ago. A band that has released 5 albums and has toured all over Europe. In addition, they’re also two parts of the quintet, which is The Grand Mal, whose self-titled debut was released in 2019.

Wall is something a bit different though. Instrumental only for one thing!

The project was conceived during lockdown when the brothers were both on furlough from their day jobs as chefs. Wall released their debut self-titled EP in January of this year (2021) and immediately everyone who heard knew this was something special from the Coles again.

We loved it. We said:

(The EP is) Rooted in doom, sludge and stoner groove. If those three styles, amalgamated by a very capable band, are up your street then you won’t want to miss out on this release.

You can read our full review of the EP here.

Not a ‘one and done’, Wall has now released a second EP called ‘Vol.2’ and that’s out on the 30th July 2021. We’ve heard it, we loved it and said that it was:

Class from the very start to the very end.

You can read our review of the EP here.

It’s simply fantastic to see that their hard work is paying off. Not only do they have an extensive UK tour throughout August but, of course, they are going to be playing Bloodstock 2021!

You’ll be able to catch them on the Jägermeister Stage on the Friday of the festival. We asked them what fans could expect from their show and they had this to say:

People attending our show can expect a big wall of brutal riffs bludgeoning their skulls. We are on at 2pm on the Friday on the Jägermeister stage…. don’t miss it!

Make sure you don’t but you’ll also have more opportunities throughout August as Wall tour the UK with The Grand Mal.
