Band Interview: Modern Welfare
Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life are pleased to bring you an interview with hard rock/electric pop band, Modern Welfare.
1. How did you get started as a band?
We met in Pittsburgh, pa. We played pop punk music then covid hit and we moved to Orlando, Florida. We found our 4th and final member of the band and spent the first 6 months of the pandemic writing the music we wanted to. The sound came out Alternative rock/ Hard rock and we ran with it. We can finally say now we are Modern Welfare Hard Rock band based out of Orlando Florida.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Our sound has a mix of hard rock and electric pop.
3.What bands/artists would you say have influenced your style of music?
Our Sound is influenced by Linkin Park, Dance Gavin Dance, Crown The Empire and Bring Me The Horizon.
4. Has the rise of YouTube & music streaming helped or hindered you as a band?
We feel it has helped us. It puts our music in front of potential fans and makes it extremely accessible to the fans we already have. So it helps our reach as a band and helps us get our music out there.
5. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not making music?
The entire band likes to travel. We take a lot of trips to the beach and to Disney and vacations back to Pittsburgh together.
6. What are your future plans musically? Tours?
We have 5 more songs from our ep to release. Our next single “Death Of Me” releases July 16th. Our first show back after a year of not playing shows is also July 16th at The Haven Lounge in Winter Park, Florida. Doors at 6. $10 cover at the door. We plan to play shows locally until after our Ep is out in full which should be This November. We have a tour in the works but no official dates yet.
